Consistency in prayer♡

Consistency is the key to everything, yet I fail many times to be consistent. Liefie ,whether it is sport,  or your homework you know that practice makes perfect. You can only be good at something if you are truly committed to it, so my advice firstly to myself and then to you as usual is : ” Work on your craft”

We are all called to pray unceasingly!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
(NKJV)
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Jesus wants us to be consistent with our prayer life, because He is ever faithful in our lives. Prayer doesn’t have to be structured but we need to set aside time during each day to pray. It is vital to build your relationship with God through prayer as well as staying connected with God through his word in the Bible.

I have gone days without prayer and I can honestly say that it makes me weak! Spiritually I feel hungry and overwhelmed by the distractions of the world.  By having a relationship with Jesus and at least trying to be consistent ,will change you inwardly and lead you to overflow with the love of Christ, helping those in need in your family, community and even the world.

How can you become more consistent with prayer?

First and foremost change your attitude about prayer and be authentically who are are. Pray uniquely in the most comfortable way you prefer. Speak to God on the bus,  train and in the kitchen WHEREVER you find yourself. Be mindful constantly that Jesus is present always! Wherever you go. ” I am with you always.”

teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:20 NKJV

What’s cool about prayer is that it is literally freely available.  We conversate with the creator and the creator draws near to us . How Wonderful to know we are never alone.

I have recently used my cellphone as an alarm reminder for prayer in the morning and evening. You might think this is silly , but as humans we are consumed by the busyness of the world.  This drives us crazy and it is one of Satan’s ways to distract us from prayer, so I have decided to use the distraction and create a personal spiritual reaction. I am constantly on my phone, thus the alarms help me to acknowledge that it is God’s time.

You might not agree with the above method,  so here are a few other ways that you can gain consistency for your prayer life . Paste reminders in your  daily diary . Get customised cups and stationery with bible verses , join prayer groups, create a family prayer roster and you can also listen to spiritual enriching teachings and music. These little things will surely make you aware of God’s presence , which will allow you to be mindful and open to conversation with God always.

In conclusion,  prayer is a powerful tool, use it uniquely and authentically. Go to your inner room and seek God’s face. Pray in your mind , pray from your heart and pray with your soul the Holy Spirit with in. Friend our God is so great he knows what we need even before we ask.
Thanksgiving  should always be on our lips.
