Is there something you’ve been waiting for for a long time? Maybe it’s your future husband or wife, or some medical breakthrough, or an advancement in your career. Maybe you’ve been trying to have a baby . Or maybe you have a dream – some passion that’s been burning deep inside of you since you were young. 

Sometimes the thought of it hurts your heart a little. You try to bury it so you don’t feel, but you can’t bury yourself. Proverbs 13:12 says “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” So how do you wait for the desire of your heart without getting heartsick?

God has promised to be faithful. It is also written in Psalm 37:4 that,  if you delight in the Lord, that he will give you the desires of your heart. Those desires in your heart, it’s been planted and If you delight in God you can be sure that he is planting those seeds… I am sure that if your desires are in line with the will or the permissable will of God, that those desires will soon come to pass.

Isaiah 40:13 says, “but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They will mount up on wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not be faint

Thus,whatever you are hoping for, you can rest that you are not alone. God is with you always. Also be reminded that there are many people going through similar seasons as you. Be encouraged that God will give you the strenght to move through your waiting season with strenght  and wisdom.

Why does God make us wait? 

Well, isn’t this an interesting question? In a world of instant gratification, our minds are trained to get what we want ,when we want it.We often forget that we have power in the heavenly places… As children of God we should know, delayed gratification is best.Because our father knows our needs and more importantly he knows what is good for us. Isaiah 55 : 9 says “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. What you want might not be good for you right now. Maybe God is trying to teach you somthing in this season, something that you’ll  need along your journey,  it might be to help or inspire someone in the future. Thus, it’s so important to keep a journal and write your encounters down. These waiting  periods are vital for our growth.

No matter what you are waiting or trusting God for , you can be sure that it will exceed your expectations. If it doesn’t it’s not God’s best for you. Ephesians 3:20 says: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”



 Dear Jesus 

Thank you for being a loving father, I need your strength to help me through this season of waiting. Lord I pray that you bless me from heaven, that you enlarge my territory,  that you keep me from temptation and evil.
