Shine Bright

You are worth… far more than rubies!

“Wherever you go, let your light shine. You never know who is walking through darkness and how an encounter with your light can transform.” #rootedwomen

Matthew 5:14 –

Stop seeing yourself in a lesser light! You are made with great intent. You are a Child of God, a royal priesthood. This week, don’t dim your light for anyone. Shine bright

What is self-controls?

By His Spirit

Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit, says the Lord of hosts                            – Zechariah 4:6

It is only through the Holy Spirit living within us, that we can truly become successful in life.

In our own strength, we are weak,  we become weary,  frustrated and tired. When we try to do things in our own strength we are constantly searching for strength, comfort and relaxation in other things that are not pleasing to God and a distraction, keeping us from His purpose for our lives. But when we allow the Holy Spirit to work through us and to lead us to the will of God, it gives us contentment and a deep joy in our life and for whatever we are to do.

Through the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, we can do anything, that is approved by God.To experience true joy in life,  we need to become empty vessels for God’s use and for His glory. But even becoming an empty vessel, requires the strength of God.

Letting go of all the things that defile our heart can be difficult without the help of the Holy Spirit. In our flesh, we enjoy the things that hold us back from experiencing the true joy and fulfilment through  Jesus Christ.

How can you become an empty vessel for God?

  • Ask God to reveal to you the deep fleshly desires that are defiling your heart and mind, clean your temple by repenting and letting go of hate, pride, jealousy, pornography, lust and even self-hatred the list is endless.
  • After letting go of your deep fleshly desires, ask God to remove the hindrances in your life,  that is keeping you from knowing Him wholeheartedly.
  • Ask God to use you and to fill you with his Holy Spirit. To anoint you to be a vessel and an instrument in His hands, to honour and glorify his holy name.

Know that God will use you and I pray that you draw near to God by reading His word. It is primarily through reading His word, when you truly get to know Him and when He reveals to you His purposes for your life.

Be willing to trust the Holy Spirit and to die to yourself.Sacrifice your comfortable state of being and become an instrument of God’s purpose for your life by striving to have a mind like Christ and he will certainly reward you.

Matthew 10:39 Says  – “Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.”

Why should we fear God?

For a long time, I have found this concept very confusing, mainly because all knew was that God is gracious and He is love.My knowledge and vision of the God the father were very narrow, in my mind I believed that I knew God but really all I knew was, that his grace is sufficient and everything else about him didn’t matter. Indeed His grace is sufficient and his gift to me is eternal life. R: 1 John 4:8, Romans 6:23.

So why then should we fear God?

The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom. (Ps 111:10)

  • God is all knowing
  • God is sovereign
  • God is powerful
  • God is holy
  • God is the righteous judge

R: Proverbs 9:10, 1 John 3:19:20 ,1 Peter 1:5:16, Acts 17:30:31

When we became aware of  God’s superiority, his power and his holiness. We will begin to obey the commandments of the Lord and come to him in reverence and fear, knowing that we are nothing, that he knows our thoughts, our hearts and He is the one God who gives and who takes away.Nothing absolutely nothing can escape from His presence.

How is it possible to wallow in my sin without repentance, to believe that I am capable of doing my daily deeds without any help from above. What if God decides to end my life today? What if all I am doing is in vain? To please me and not God.To seek approval from others instead of God.

God is gracious and He forgives but He is also a God of anger and deserves our complete surrender.Trusting in His faithfulness and living a thankful life for the glory of God, may His favour and blessings always be with you.

Through hardships I will produce a righteous harvest👑

Dear Daughter/Son

Do not dispise my discipline and my rebuke. I love you and all that I allow is for your  protection and for your good (Proverbs 3:11-12).I allow hardships to come, not because I find pleasure in the sight of seeing you struggle , but because I know what the struggle will birth in you! You are my child and through  my discipline you will know that you are no orphan to me , but that I am your Father (Hebrews 12:6-7). Trust  me and hope in my faithfulness.

In this life you may encounter all kinds of trials to prove your  faith and just as gold is refined through the fire , to perish all that which is not pure gold , so Am I refining  you , to bring praise and glory to My name , to perish all the folly in your heart (1 Peter 6-7).

Today let go of all the folly in your heart and allow my discipline to drive it away and transform your heart in obedience to Me (Proverbs 22:15).

Happy Tuesday to you !

Don’t Dig Up In Doubt, What’s Planted in Faith🌱

Hebrew 11:1

Throughout the bible, there are many examples on faith. Many people either recieved healing, forgiveness or peace because of their faith or that they fell short because of their little faith.

In Mark 5:2534, we read about the woman , who had a bleeding illness. She had immense faith, that if  she could only touch the hem  of Jesus’ cloke that ,she would  be healed. Indeed she was and if you know the story, Jesus went searching for the woman through the crowd, as he realised that power had left him. The woman then fearly fell before Jesus  and he said to her :”Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”

There are many more parables and encounters throughout the bible that Reaffirms the justice of having faith.

In Matthew 8:26 , when Jesus and his disciples were in the boat, the waves and winds were so strong, that the disciples became fearful, they woke Jesus and He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.”

As I refer to the above bible verse, Jesus says to the disciples that they have little faith! They are in the boat with the Messiah,  yet they are fearful. How many times  in our own lives are we faced with storms and trials, then shy away from it. We become like the disciples in the boat, afraid and of little faith.Yet, as believers we should trust in the Lord.

In Matthew 17:20 , Jesus says that if we have faith like a mustard seed, we will be able to move mountains and “nothing will be impossible for you”

In my life, there have been little winds and hefty storms, each one had a different  challenge and required various levels of faith to overcome. In 2014 I experienced so many challenges regarding my future , unanswered questions such as , where to study, funding my studies, will my marks be good enough etc. I really didn’t do as well as I expect in grade 12 , so my chances for following my dreams, became rather slim. These questions boggled my mind and I worried almost all the time. I had so much fear of making the wrong choices and waisting my time. Until I decided to trust the Lord with my future, to pray about the future  and to take the leap of faith.

Until this day , God has been guiding me and directing my steps and with the help of good counsel of family and friends, I managed to discover the path I needed to follow. I can truly say that by the small amounts of faith that I  planted, God has truly been faithful and his love for me has been overwelming.

I want to emphasise though that God wants to bless us with our needs and wants, he wants you to ask in faith and hold on to the hope that is found in him. But more importantly he wants us  to receive salvation through faith and believing in him. Many times we desire material things, that are not as important as our souls, so…seek first the kingdom of God and he will equip you for each task given to you. Saturate yourself with His word and as you grow in truth, you’ll  see your faith grow day by day. Lastly ,never doubt the Power of prayer and the working of the Holy Spirit.

James 1:6“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of thesea, blown and tossed by the wind.”

In the world we living in today, we are challenged to live a doubt- free life. People betray us, things don’t go our way and that is exactly why we doubt. However, Jesus is truth and we can depend on him. If what you ask for  is in his plan , he will most definitely grant your petitions.

Dear Jesus

I thank you for giving me the hope to trust in you. If I lack in faith,  strengthen me and help me to trust you completely. Jesus , you know my heart , you know my troubles and you know me, even more than I know myself. As I trust you for. ……… I believe and place this at your feet with faith.

Let your will be done in my life.

Broken hearts for the building of God’s Kingdom👑

In my pervious post ,”The process of a healing heart” , I spoke about betrayal and how to let go of the spiritual chains holding you back from living a rooted life in Christ.

I concluded with Jesus being the faithful friend. Apart from that, even now, Jesus is pressing into hearts and healing us from every destructive pain.

On that note, according to Christian doctrine, Jesus is the one true healer of all emotional pain that may caused us to fall short of the blessings of God.

When I experienced heartbreak – it was like physical pain, I was tormented day and night and could barely sleep. While experiencing this – I asked Jesus to use my pain and boiling emotions, confusion and hurt for his Glory.

A broken heart is a process – and God is indeed aware of that and therefore he reminds us that he is close during that process.

Looking back now, pain has become my greatest teacher. The primary source of my growth and faith in Jesus. I am grateful for the relationship that didn’t work out, the rejection and the emotional trauma I encountered as a young woman. It gave me perspective and enhanced my spiritual intelligence that took me on an amazing journey with Jesus.

How amazing is our God , to use the wounds of my broken heart and wounded spirit to direct me to his heart and his faithfulness. Satan might have intend the pain for my downfall, in fact, my suicidal thoughts shouldn’t have placed me here on earth today. BUT God always intends it for our good (Genesis50:20).

Today, I am in awe with God’s sense of humour to take my past problems, that once seemed to be the biggest hurdle or mountain and turn it into a molehill.

Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else,guard your heart ,for everything you do flows from it.

So, whatever your heart needs healing for , have faith and believe that Jesus will heal you. Yes, it’s easier said than done , it might not even happen over night, but it’s a process and you are not alone. You will overcome this pain and this struggle through Jesus Christ.

Prayer :

Dear Jesus

Thank you for your unconditional love towards me, thank you for giving me the hope for a wonderful future and complete healing though your word. Gather the pieces of my heart and bind up all the pieces to make me whole again. Most importantly use me and let these scars tell your story.

In Jesus name

The process of a healing heart

-” He heals the broken hearted.”                              Psalm 147:3

This is most probably one of the most sensitive  topics  ever and it requires much vulnerability which is frightening to many of our kind(Humans).

Ever since the day we took our first breath, our fragile hearts became exposed to external factors  that will scar us. Facing hurt and a broken little heart, is the one thing we can not avoid. People need each other  and it’s saddening to know that the people we love and trust are the ones who hurt and betray us.

I have always told myself,  betrayal would never knock on my door. The people I meet will always be true to me and they will be for me. I have  a support structure and a loving family as good examples, friends who love me and good people I meet. I’ve set myself standards to always  seek the good in others no matter what.

Yet, not even reaching the peak of my life, disappointments came knocking on my door. The family I thought had my back, vanished  in thin air, friends grew few and what was once a beautiful promise was nothing but empty wordless words falling from their lips.

I never expected the loyalty of family and friends to grow weary. This has taught me to trust and reply only on the Lord. For he is the same everyday.Hebrews 13 : 8 Jesus Christ is the same ,yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Jesus is also the promise keeper that never, disappointment or speak meaningless words.Every word and promise made He shall fulfill

Romans 9:6–8 :” God’s Promises Never Fail.”

Today …the feeling of betrayal is not strange or unknown ,when I experienced betrayal,  it  broke  my heart and I felt extremely hurt and challenge with an unforgiving  heart. It was through  this, that I realised the Devil wanted to steal my joy , he wanted  my joy to grow cold and my heart to be hardened by building grudges and keeping my heart imprisoned with unforgiveness.I prayed for the pain that was so deep, my heart felt like it was literally bleeding to out of my chest.

The truth is as much a I had this hurt and as much as I had these feelings  of resentment towards the few people  who betrayed me. It was God’s will for me to turn the other cheek and to forgive, because He had forgiven me. See Luke 6:29 and Matthew 6:14

I  realised that what I feel  is much greater that myself,  how can I take the place of the just  judge? I too am a sinner in need of God’s grace and mercy. Resentment and hatred  will be food for the Devil and poison to my soul. No matter how bad the  situation or your betrayal. God commands  us to forgive our trespassers and to  overcome evil with good. God himself said revenge belongs to him only and the battle we fight is not ours but His , all we have to do is to be still. See Deuteronomy 32:35

Exodus 14:14 “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Allow Jesus to turn your scars into stories and your pain into victory, one day at a time.

My prayer for you:

“May you turn to God and give him all the feelings boiling inside of your heart. For He promises to heal our broken hearts. May He fill you  with himself  and heal your heart from the humiliation, hurt and pain of those  who betrayed you. May he search your heart and soul and give you a new spirit  within, to forgive  and let go of all unwanted  feelings and emotions .

May the joy of the Lord be your strength.

Dear, Father

Thank you for your  healing power in my life,  thank you for steadying  my heart and for giving  me a new spirit. I pray  for X(insert name ) turn your face toward X, Lord reveal your heart to X. Help me to forgive all the pain and heartbreak caused because of what  X has done. Lord in my human nature I am weak. Give me your  strength  and help me not to harden my heart. Bless X and bring him/her to your salvation.

In Jesus name.

The best is yet to come👑

This is so weird! All my life, I’ve been imprisoned by the the thoughts that nothing good will come from expectations. All expectations are evil, expectations ruins my life and creates false hope .

Many times ,I would expect and hope for something, but it just never happened and when it happened it was never how I expected it to be.

So what’s  really weird about it?…Over the years of having many disappointments. I have realised that gratefulness  is the key to everything. Being grateful , trades my expectations for what is mine in the present moment , and disarms the illusion of what I have received as not being of value.

The main factor behind not having expectations is fear. We are fearful of the rejection and disappointment life will bring . Well, Fear is the opposite of faith and it takes faith to accept anything good in our lives. But I was always expecting something bad or even nothing to happen, because my life motto was: ” appreciate everything, expect nothing.” The illusion that I should expect  nothing was not of the one who created me and calls me His daughter. As children of God, we should trust in the Lord and ALWAYS expect somthing good from our loving Father, because he is faithful.

If we are not careful, the illusion of not being  expectant will open the door to Satans’ evil plans for our lives by waiting for bad things and becoming bitter. But when we expect good things and trust in devine providence, we open the door to God’s plan and receive all things as a gift above. Please see: Lamentations 3:25

Proverbs 15: 15  All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.

So to you who have given up and resorted to not expecting anything good. I sympathise with you (lol) and I want you to catch yourself next time and instead of being bitter and doubtful. Thank God cheerfully for the good things he is sending your way.Do not let the lack of vision and believe distroy you. See Proverbs 29:18
